Shirley has endured much adversity in her life.

She suffered childhood abuse.

As a young mother she experienced the death of 5 children, her first born son was diagnosed with profound Cerebral Palsy and died at 15 months, 2 miscarriages and 2 ectopic pregnancies between her now 3 adult children, blessing her with 7 Grandchildren.

She has faced divorce, run a successful small business.

Her second marriage came with a chapter of Domestic Violence.  During and following this time Shirley practised as a rural and remote area  nurse.

Following a workplace injury 11 years ago she suffered  PTSD and an addiction to opioids, associated to her injuries.
